Chainlink Uses ICE Market Data for On-Chain Currency and Precious Metals Quotes

The Chainlink oracle platform will utilize data from Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) to provide currency and precious metals quotes on blockchain services.

Chainlink, a leading blockchain oracle provider, announced a collaboration with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), a Fortune 500 network of exchanges and clearing houses for financial and commodity markets in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. As part of the initiative, high-precision currency and precious metals quotes from the ICE Consolidated Feed will be used to generate on-chain quotes within the Chainlink service.

This partnership will integrate data covering over 150 currency pairs and key precious metals, including gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, into Chainlink Data Streams. ICE information, aggregated from more than 300 global exchanges and trading venues, will be made available to all participants in the Chainlink ecosystem. ICE data will serve as a primary source for aggregated metrics used by DeFi protocols.

Maurisa Baumann, VP for Global Data Delivery Platforms at ICE, noted that the ICE Consolidated Feed provides structured multi-currency data in demand by leading financial institutions worldwide. Fernando Vázquez, President of Banking and Capital Markets at Chainlink Labs, emphasized that the integration strengthens the institutional standard of data provision and aligns with traditional capital market requirements, laying the groundwork for issuing a new generation of tokenized products. Vázquez also pointed out that integrating Chainlink’s infrastructure with ICE market data gives institutional players access to secure, high-quality, near real-time data.

Analysts project the tokenized RWA market could reach $30.1 trillion by 2030. Meanwhile, Chainlink is actively addressing cross-chain settlement efficiency for tokenized assets and launching comprehensive solutions to automate regulatory compliance during issuance and circulation of tokenized assets.
