As of 2023, U.S. shelters have achieved an 83% save rate, rescuing 3.97 million of the 4.76 million cats and dogs housed in shelters.
DOGS’ contribution is expected to significantly aid the effort to reach the 90% benchmark by 2025.
DOGS will also fund one month of care for dogs adopted through the program, encouraging community involvement and spreading awareness about how to help shelter animals.
Additionally, DOGS plans to launch a platform where nonprofit organizations worldwide can apply for funding, expanding its charitable outreach.
The partnership includes a $150,000 donation from the DOGS community to Best Friends Animal Society.
This contribution will help find homes for animals like Rusty, a long-time resident at the organization’s sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.
