Exodus Movement introduced a crypto debit card supporting USDT and USDC, usable at any point of sale connected to the Mastercard payment network.

Exodus and Baanx Launch Mastercard Crypto Card

Exodus Movement, a publicly traded company and developer of the eponymous Bitcoin wallet, announced the release of a virtual crypto debit card in partnership with FinTech platform Baanx. The product was unveiled at the BTC Vegas conference.

The crypto card will allow users to spend cryptocurrency on everyday purchases, online shopping, travel payments, and more, anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

Beta testing of the virtual card began at the conference and will initially support two stablecoins, USDT and USDC. Users will be able to instantly swap these for BTC and other cryptocurrencies via the Exodus wallet interface. The full product launch is scheduled for late 2025.

As of the end of Q1 2025, the Exodus crypto wallet reported 1.6 million monthly active users (MAU).

JP Richardson, CEO of Exodus, noted that the new card could be a tool for financial inclusion. “If you consider there are 1.7 billion people who are unbanked out there, well now they don’t need a bank account because they can use something like this,” Richardson said. “You are effectively saying that if you’ve got access to a mobile phone, you’ve got access to a range of basic financial services,” added Simon Jones, Chief Commercial Officer at Baanx.

Earlier, Max Krupyshev, CEO of CoinsPaid, spoke about the growing popularity of digital asset payment solutions. According to him, crypto payments will start to demonstrate real global utility in 2025. “The era of crypto as a purely speculative asset is over. The world is moving beyond talking about the potential of digital assets and is actively using them in everyday life,” Max stated.
