U.S Presidential Contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr. To Accept BTC Contributions

  • Robert pledged to defend Americans’ rights to acquire and use the cryptocurrency.
  • He also detailed intentions to legalize BTC mining in the United States and exempt taxes.

On the “Nakamoto Stage” at Bitcoin 2023, the Democrat candidate for President of the United States made some bold promises. When asked about his personal experience with Bitcoin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pledged to defend Americans’ rights to acquire and use the cryptocurrency if he were elected president.

The presidential contender said to the crowd that his interest in and knowledge of Bitcoin was sparked by Canada’s crackdown on truck truckers protesting Covid-19 limits.

In his presidential platform, he also detailed intentions to legalize Bitcoin mining in the United States and exempt such enterprises from power taxes. In sharp contrast to President Biden’s planned 30% tax on Bitcoin miners, this action is likely to have a positive impact on the cryptocurrency business in the United States.

Kennedy also said that he will take Bitcoin (BTC) as campaign contributions, making him the first U.S. presidential contender to do so. Vivek Ramaswamy is the second 2024 US presidential candidate to say he would accept Bitcoin donations. Ramaswamy stated that he would accept Bitcoin donations and even flashed a QR code on stage.

Several prominent politicians, including former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Sen. Cynthia Lummis, and presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy, spoke at the 2023 Bitcoin conference. John F. Kennedy Jr. is the nephew of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States.

Senator Cynthia Lummis stated:

“Bitcoin is something that is just so consistent with American values that we need to make sure it is protected, nurtured, and allowed to innovate here in the United States.”
