Bitcoin (BTC) is holding above $52,000 on Monday in wake of data revealing record weekly inflows into crypto investment products, but investors looking for quick near-term gains continue to scour micro-cap markets on the hunt for top crypto gainers today.
Crypto investment products saw inflows of just under $2.5 billion last week, as per a weekly blog post by CoinShares.
That’s the most ever and takes yearly inflows to $5.2 billion.
Bitcoin unsurprisingly accounts for the lion’s share of these inflows in wake of the January approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs.
But whilst inflows continue to support the Bitcoin price, making it potentially the best crypto to buy today, attention is turning to Ether (ETH), the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
While BTC is up around 7% in the last week, ETH is up close to 15% and above $2,900.
Various Ether-based spot ETFs are likely to gain approval this year, Bernstein argued on Monday.
That, combined with Ether’s deflationary tokenomics, staking yield dynamics and environmentally friendly design could make ETH the next “institutional darling”.
With Ether likely to push above $3,000 imminently, it could be another candidate for the best crypto to buy today.
While blue-chip cryptocurrencies can offer the prospect of strong near-term gains, micro-cap often see much faster gains.
Indeed, its not uncommon to see shitcoins and meme coins pumping 10x in one day in the on-chain markets.
That’s because these tokens have tiny market capitalizations and next to no liquidity, meaning a few large buy orders can power huge price pumps.

$PIXEL has around $310,000 in liquidity and 400 holders.
Traders should be very cautious of this coin, as its tax is modifiable, meaning it could easily be a scam.

BlueSHIB ($BlueSHIB)
A new Shiba Inu meme coin called BlueSHIB ($BlueSHIB) has pumped 470% pump on Thursday, as per DEXTools.
But its market cap remains tiny at just over $100,000.
Meanwhile, it also has tiny liquidity of around $95,000 and 385 holders.
While the token only has two smart contract alert, as per DEXTools’ smart contract audit, investors should exercise caution.
DeepFakeAI ($FakeAI)
The native token of Telegram-based DeepFake creation protocol DeeFakeAI ($FakeAI) has been pumping in the last few sessions.
As per DEXTools, the shitcoin was up 150% on Monday, making it one of the top crypto gainers today.
$FAKEAI’s market cap was last around $1.9 million, with just over $430,000 in locked liquidity.
It last had close to 1,500 holders and two smart contract alerts.
While it might be one of the top crypto gainers today, $FAKEAI has a 4% buy-and-sell tax.
So investors should tread with caution, as they would with any other shitcoin.
