The Dubai Police will use a Cardano blockchain solution to store and share evidence and data on criminal cases.
The Dubai Police started testing a solution based on the Cardano blockchain network to store and disseminate sensitive information on criminal cases. The solution was unveiled at the World Police Summit held annually in Dubai.
The DLT system developed by the Cardano Foundation will enable Dubai’s law enforcement agencies to ensure complete security for storing evidence and other criminal case data. Moreover, blockchain allows data to be encrypted on the network in case sensitive information needs to be transmitted to Interpol, for example. In fact, a file encrypted in this way will be partially analogous to an NFT.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies of various countries express interest in using blockchain technologies. The Goa Police considered the possibility of transferring the entire document flow of the department to blockchain.
Law enforcement agencies are most actively using Metaverse technologies. In particular, Interpol uses virtual space to train its employees and coordinate the investigation of international criminal cases. To optimize communication between different departments, the agency created its own Metaverse platform. The Hong Kong Police uses the CyberDefender virtual space to inform the public about potential threats and opportunities related to Metaverse projects and the Web3 sphere.
