According to on-chain analytics, 23 of the 50 tokens that participated in airdrops since 2020 reached their ATHs within the first two weeks after the giveaway ended.
CoinGecko analysts found that the value of about 46% of the tokens that participated in major airdrops in the last three years reached an all-time high (ATH) within 14 days of the giveaway.
23 of the 50 tokens studied reached their maximum value within two weeks of the airdrops, specifically:
- seven tokens reached the maximum on the day of the airdrop (Jupiter, ParaSwap, and CowSwap);
- ten coins increased in price during the first week (Ethereum Name Service, X2Y2, Blur, Jito, Wen, and Sweat);
- prices of six tokens peaked within two weeks (LooksRare, ArbDoge AI, Manta Network, and Heroes of Mavia).
Analysts also noted that tokens that rose in price rather quickly didn’t manage to keep their positions for a long time and in most cases their price dropped rapidly. On the other hand, some large projects took more than a year to reach the maximum value of native tokens, but the community’s interest in them did not wane. For example, Optimism (OP) reached its historical maximum only one year and seven months after the airdrop.
The most lucrative tokens that users could get during airdrops since 2020 were:
- Bonk (BONK) rose 28,092% over 51 weeks;
- The Graph (GRT) is up 1,839% in 9 weeks;
- Uniswap (UNI) is up 1,145% over 33 weeks.
